The winner of the Miss World Beauty Pageant 2009 is Kaiane Aldorino.
First runner-up was Miss Mexico, Perla Beltran Acosta.
However the hot favourite Miss South Africa,
Tatum Keshwar manged to finish third.

With the Miss World contest underway in Johannesburg – South Africa,
Certain contests already have a winner, in the run up to the Final on 12th December 2009.
Miss World Beach Beauty contest winner is Miss Gibralter
Out of a total of 45 contestants,
Followed by Miss Panama and Miss Scotland.
While in the Miss World Talent Contest, the top honours were shared between
Miss Canada
And Miss Sierra Leone
Japan won the Miss World Sportswoman 2009.
In the Miss World Top Model Contest,
The award for the best designer was taken by Sierra Leone’s designer Dany Tabet, for an amazing crystal emblazed design with ornate patterning.
While the Miss World Top Model Award went to Mexico,
followed by Vietnam and Martinique.
Now just keep your fingers crossed and keep guessing who is going to take the crown,
Miss South Africa is tipped to be the hot favorite.
Indian challenge is led by Pooja Chopra

Nominations for the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards were announced tonight by The Recording Academy and reflected an eclectic mix of the best and brightest over the past year in music, as determined by the voting members of The Academy.
Beyoncé topped the nominations with 10, Taylor Swift garnered eight, and the Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell, and Kanye West each earned six nods. David Guetta, Jay-Z and Lady Gaga received five each; and Colbie Caillat, Michael Giacchino, Kings Of Leon, John Newton, RedOne, Bruce Springsteen, T-Pain, and Keith Urban each received four nominations.

The Volkswagen Polo is the Car of the Year 2010. It won a close contest with the Toyota iQ. Just ten points, 347 to 337, separated the two leading contenders, while the Opel/Vauxhall Astra took third place, with 221 points.
The Polo, a car which in the eyes of many jurors looks and feels like a scaled-down Golf, has been even more appreciated than its bigger stable-mate, which took third place last year. In fact, it is the first Volkswagen CotY winner in 18 years, following the win in 1992… by a Golf. All the 59 Jury members from 23 European countries gave points to the winner, and 25 of them chose it as their favourite. The iQ received points from 58 jurors, with 20 top marks. The Opel/Vauxhall Astra was voted by 55 Jury members, with five of them giving top points.

Do you really want to be the new “war president”? If you go to West Point tomorrow night (Tuesday, 8pm) and announce that you are increasing, rather than withdrawing, the troops in Afghanistan, you are the new war president. Pure and simple. And with that you will do the worst possible thing you could do — destroy the hopes and dreams so many millions have placed in you. With just one speech tomorrow night you will turn a multitude of young people who were the backbone of your campaign into disillusioned cynics. You will teach them what they’ve always heard is true — that all politicians are alike. I simply can’t believe you’re about to do what they say you are going to do. Please say it isn’t so.
It is not your job to do what the generals tell you to do. We are a civilian-run government. WE tell the Joint Chiefs what to do, not the other way around. That’s the way General Washington insisted it must be. That’s what President Truman told General MacArthur when MacArthur wanted to invade China. “You’re fired!,” said Truman, and that was that. And you should have fired Gen. McChrystal when he went to the press to preempt you, telling the press what YOU had to do. Let me be blunt: We love our kids in the armed services, but we f*#&in’ hate these generals, from Westmoreland in Vietnam to, yes, even Colin Powell for lying to the UN with his made-up drawings of WMD (he has since sought redemption).

Avatar an upcoming 3-D science fiction epic film directed by James Cameron, due to be released on December 16, 2009 by 20th Century Fox. The film is Lightstorm Entertainment’s latest project, and focuses on an epic conflict on a far-away world called Pandora, where humans and the native species of Pandora, the Na’vi, engage in war over the planet’s resources and existence.
The film will be released in 2D and 3D formats, along with an IMAX 3D release in selected theaters. The film is being touted as a breakthrough in terms of filmmaking technology, for its development of 3D viewing and stereoscopic filmmaking with cameras that were specially designed for the film’s production, and has already been slated for two awards.
Filmed at an cost of $500 million. The most expensive movie made till date.
